| After many years of working in the corporate world, I took a long look at what I was missing out on. Being more available for my children. I decided it was time for me to make some serious changes in my life, where my children are concern. Working outside of the home seemed to have more control over my time than I did. I now find it much easier to manage my time by working from home. We often do whats more fitting for our lifestyles. I believe that at the same time our view is not as clear as it should be. I also believe that we loose a lot of quality family time because of "the immediate need drive" that controls our decision making, rather than whats really important, (Christ and Family). We wake up one day and our children are practically grown, and yes we worked hard to support them (the immediate need); But we often miss out on (the most important) their need for "quality time" with their parents. I am an old fashion mom who believes that children need parents more-so than the corporate world. I am a full-time student majoring in Psychology, Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement. I am about 3 hours away from my educational success. However, my educational achievement is not for my personal gain, but rather how I can make a difference in the lives of others, especially children. My objective is to use my education as a part of the non-profits foundation I designed to assist with the needs of children as well as an advocate for single parents. I believe that the opportunity to work from home is the Blessing I needed to help me achieve that as well as allowing me the opportunity to spend more quality time with my famiIy. My children need me (now) to be the available mom to assist them in their stages of growth. Working eight hours a day and attending school consumed too much of my time. Time my children needed. Sacrificing school wasn't something I felt I should give up. Working eight or more hours a day to help keep somone else at the top while the immediate needs of my children were being sacrificed was something I had to give up. So I stepped out on a leap of faith. I am among the many who have searched for work at home or a homebased business. I truly believe that God may not come when you want him but he's always right on time. That's why I am not one to give up. My Bible tells me that God will supply all my needs (Philippians 4:19). It also tells me to "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God" ( Philippians 4:6). I've taken this opportunity to reach out to others in need and in hope to help enrich their lives. I hope is to encourage others to help other people as they work toward their goals. We can all climb the ladder together: "People helping people." My goal is to help others grow spiritually, financially and have more quality family time, while being more available for their child/children and the opportunity to reach others with similar desires and circumstances. Use our plans to climb the ladder to your dream, help others and become in charge of your own destiny. Allow God to travel with you throughout your journey. |
